IATA ID  Cards - Introductory Information and How to Get One
IATA  ID Cards
A co-operative process  between IATA HC and IAIR Canada has been established to issue cards to retirees “on request”.
ID Cards are mandatory for reduced airline travel requests.  IATA's eligibility criteria for reduced airline travel has not changed, (see eligibility below) however retirees who are not eligible for reduced airline travel, can still request an ID card, which will indicate this fact with the following note on the card: “eligible for non-airline reduced travel rates only

For IAIR Canada our ID Card representative will gather member applications, process them in the format required by IATA, and transmit applications monthly to the relevant IATA service section. IATA will send the ID card  directly to the retiree. A link to the relevant  application form (English or Français) is available at Member Info.
Eligibility for Reduced Airline Travel

If you intend to request the ID Card for reduced airline travel, please verify you are eligible by meeting, at the time of your departure from IATA, one of the two following conditions;
A) At least 10 years of service and be over 55 years old;  OR
B) At least 25 years of service.

All retirees are eligible for an ID Card for identification purposes.

Important Instructions

It is mandatory to fill in ALL fields accurately and return the completed form to our ID Card representative by email , together with a picture in passport format made against a white/off white background. That picture has to be  digital and in jpg format. This is the usual format produced by digital cameras. The picture must be named (renamed) with your IATA ID number (which is also your IATA retiree ID number). Example: your former ID number was 12345 so the picture must be named 12345.jpg.
You can find your old IATA number either on your “old” ID card”, or an old salary sheet. If you have Manulife health coverage it is the certificate number on your Manulife ID card. You can also call ACS Nathalie Sauther, Adminstrator Defined Benefit Plans, either by phone at  (514) 987-1510 or by email for your IATA ID number.
Information gathered with this procedure will be kept confidential and will not be forwarded to anyone else but the relevant IATA Service in charge of ID Cards. Any questions can be emailed to our  IAIR ID card representative.
